Each month we’ll go door-to-door in towns and villages throughout the Kingdom to find out: What is actually affordable for renters in town? HOUSING CAMPAIGN TEAM
Monday, April 15 from 6 – 7:30 pm
Google Meet
We are interested in knowing what affordability means to us and our neighbors and are encouraging everyone to go to their town’s next selectboard meeting to ask about what their town’s housing plan is. Does it align with what residents think? Will it work to give more Vermonters the housing they want and need? Follow this link to join the meeting!
If you’d like to join one of the committees, come to the next meeting, or have any questions about the housing campaign, please email [email protected].
The Construction Justice Cooperative
We’re seeking contractors to be part of a construction crew that works with flood survivors to rebuild their homes and the homes of neighbors. We want to prioritize hiring folks who were impacted by the floods this summer.
Contact [email protected] if you’re an interested builder or funder.
This work is inspired by Just Construction and their work in Southern Vermont.
Tenant’s Rights Working Group
Understanding your rights as a tenant can be challenging. We are currently working on a series of one-page flyers that will provide helpful information to renters that they may use when navigating the complexities of renting. Here are the sources we are using:
We are interested in finding ways to hold landlords accountable to their responisibilties to keep housing in the Northeast Kingdom safe, secure, and functional. Are you interested in exploring this conversation and brainstorming ways to make housing more equitable where we live?
