Northeast Kingdom Organizing is a member-led, grassroots organization fighting for a Just Transition of the Northeast Kingdom. Donations are different than memberships in that they require less commitment, but they make a big impact on our community.
NEKO is doing the essential work to organize regular people to take care of their community’s needs as the old system collapses–an exemplary model of mutual aid in action.
NEKO creates change by empowering community members and listening to their needs, not coming in with an agenda. It is incredible to see how they can lift others up to create real change.
NEKO has helped so many neighbors who would not have otherwise found support. The members are dedicated people who truly care about the quality of life for all. The organization is important for rural community and individual resilience in the midst of natural disasters and times of great need as well as for social justice and maintaining the human to human connections in the NEK.
