Since July of last year, NEKO has put profound effort in responding to communities and individuals impacted by the historic floods of the summer. In the beginning, our singular goal was to assure that people were living in safe homes, attempting to reverse the damage brought by landslides and standing water.
For many individuals and families, flood recovery is far from over.

NEKO has been working with individuals and families throughout Orleans and Caledonia counties to help support their on-going recovery from this summer’s flooding. In November of this past year, we partnered with organizations throughout the NEK to stand up a long-term recovery group called The Kingdom United Resilience and RecoVery Effort (KURRVE). Together, we are rebuilding roughly 40 homes and helping to restore the wellbeing of over 80 survivors.
